At the IAB Mixx Conference, Twitter CRO, Adam Bain, announced that Twitter now has 1,600 advertisers using the social media platform to reach consumers. That number is up 600% over last year when the number was in the hundreds.
This comes on the back of several highly successful ad campaigns, specifically with Paramount Pictures and Burberry, seeing noticeable increases in engagement with their Twitter accounts. Bain, also added that engagements on Twitter ads are defined by clicks on links and retweets, both solid metrics for ROI in social media advertising.
Another point of note is that eMarketer estimates that by the year 2013 Twitter’s worldwide ad revenue could reach almost $400 million. Meaning there is a lot of untapped potential in the Twitter world that can be captured by would be advertisers.
