Amazon Kindle Fire Blazing According To New comScore Report - Now Has 54% Of Android Tablet Market

According to a new comScore report released last week, Amazon's Kindle Fire now has 54% of the Android tablet market. The data was current to the end of February 2012. Kindle Fire's number has almost doubled in the last 2 months, where in December of 2011; Amazon had only 29% of the Android market.

From the day the Amazon Kindle Fire went on sale in November 2011, its sales were impressive. They were boosted by huge Christmas numbers and that trend has continued into 2012, supported by the latest report by comScore. The Kindle Fire has beat out some of the more popular Android based tablets; Samsung’s Galaxy Tab family followed with a market share of 15.4 percent, followed by the Motorola Xoom with 7.0 percent share. The Asus Transformer and Toshiba AT100 made the top five with 6.3 percent and 5.7 percent market share, but a far cry from the 54% of Amazon.

Kindle Fire's climb up the charts was fairly surprising to us as there are some tablets with much larger and greater resolution. Obviously, the pairing of the great reader feature of the Kindle with Android platform has created a go to product for tablet users.

What is your favorite tablet? What makes it better than the others? Leave JASE a comment below and let us know what you think. As always, please feel free to share this article with friends.
