This summer Google Analytics announced a pilot for Search Engine Optimization reports using queries within the Webmaster Tools. Last week Google Analytics announced that search data is available to the public which is located in the Traffic Sources section of Google Analytics.
According to Google Analytics the following reports are now available:
- Queries: impressions, clicks, position, and CTR info for the top 1,000 daily queries.
- Landing Pages: impressions, clicks, position, and CTR info for the top 1,000 daily landing pages.
- Geographical Summary: impressions, clicks, and CTR by country.
All of the search query reports are able to be filtered with visualization capabilities as well to allow for deeper analysis of information. Unfortunately, this information is not available to the entire public, just the Webmaster Tools verified site owner and the Google Analytics administrator of that property, and anyone they authorize to view the reports.
We are excited for reports like these. We work closely with our clients about the data that is generated in Google Analytics and how it can measure their advertising campaigns. How does your team use Google Analytics? Leave us a Facebook comment below and let us know.
