Starting Sept. 1 you can say goodbye to auto-playing flash ads, that is if you use Google Chrome as your web browser. Google has announced that they will begin to pause many flash ads by default to improve performance.

Google says users will experience better battery life on their laptops and mobile devices as well as improved overall performance in the browser. Also, users won’t have to experience as many ads that get on our nerves anyway.

From the ad world side, this is an interesting development as many advertisers depend on auto-playing ads so that the user gets exposure to their brand.
