NORFOLK, VA – The vibrant, authentic port city of Norfolk bustles on its streets and online.
Google has named Norfolk as its 2015 eCity for Virginia. The award recognizes cities with strong online business communities – businesses that use the web to find new customers, connect with existing clients, and fuel their local economies.
Google based its results on examining economic value provided through Google’s AdWords program. Other criteria included website and social media presence, blogging and e-commerce.
The award shows the robust economy, both real world and virtual, built by Norfolk businesses.
“Google’s selection of Norfolk as an eCity demonstrates the continuing commitment of the city and its business community to grow a responsive, inclusive, customer-focused economy that thrives not only in Virginia, but across the globe through the power of the Internet,” said Mayor Paul Fraim.
