Memorial Day weekend will soon be upon us and that means cookouts and parties with family and friends. If you have not made plans for the weekend, there are still a variety of events going on around Hampton Roads. Take a look at some of these:

  • AT&T Finale Fridays – TowneBank Fountain Park – Norfolk – Join us for Norfolk’s largest outdoor waterfront party in TowneBank Fountain Park at Town Point Park with food, fun & LIVE entertainment on the last Friday of the month! *
  • Spring Carnival – Hampton Coliseum – Hampton – Open from May 24 to June 3, the carnival is sure to have something for everyone. Take a leisurely ride on the giant Ferris wheel or get your adrenaline pumping on the Fire Ball, the only ride of its kind in the United States. There will be plenty of rides just for the little ones as well! **
  • Pungo Strawberry Festival – Pungo – Virginia Beach – Along with beautiful beaches, Virginia Beach has miles and miles of beautiful farmland.  We call this area Pungo and every year the Pungo Strawberry Festival is held on Memorial Day weekend.  This year we are estimating attendance of 120,000 over the two day event.  Not only does the Festival have all the strawberries you can eat offered in over 50 different ways, activities include a pie eating contest, strawberry bake-off, continuous entertainment on three stages, a parade, one of the largest carnivals on the east coast, livestock show and sale, a multi-million dollar military display, pig races, youth art show, and arts and craft booths. ***

If you travel out this weekend please be safe and responsible. Don’t drink and drive! Send us some pictures if you make it out to any of these events, we would love to see them. As always, please feel free to share this article with friends.
