Mashable confirmed in an article that Klout has raised an undisclosed amount of funding to launch a mobile initiative.

Klout is a San Fransisco based firm that provides social media analytics to measure a user’s influence across their social network. It ranks a user’s influence 0-100, with 100 being most influential, across communities like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, and Foursquare.

Klout’s goal in securing funding to launch a mobile initiative is to improve their accuracy, transparency, and utility. Currently they do not have a mobile application available and feel that they could better serve their users with this development.

Klout’s analytic services are beneficial to businesses in that it allows a company to see which employees are more influential in their social networks. It also allows for analysis of competitors and allows for internal SWOT analysis in social communities.
