What is it?

This is the JASE QR Code. This is our stamp. This is the future of how URLs, contacts, or long messages will be communicated electronically.

According to Wikipedia, “A QR Code is a matrix code (or two-dimensional bar code) created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The “QR” is derived from “Quick Response”, as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed.”

Simply, a QR Code is a 2D bar code that can be placed on virtually anything (a direct mail piece, blog post, magazine ad, social media status, poster, POS display, email, etc.).

QR Codes are unique codes that when read by a smartphone camera (as long as the proper app is installed) launch a microsite, video, podcast.

How do you read our QR Code?

Download a QR Code reader for your smartphone. There are many out there, try i-nigma for the Apple iPhone or ScanLife for the RIM BlackBerry. Then launch the app, scan the code above with your smartphone camera, and see what happens.
